Welcoming Back Snow

by Shawn

Time to welcome back our ol' buddy....Snow.  Awesome.  Here's a few Pros & Cons of nature's winter blanket, to remind yourselves of over the next few months, in hopes of preventing you from going entirely insane as the Red River Valley is transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

Pro:

1. Snow Angels.  Jumping Jacks, laying down and we get a souvenir to take a picture of.

Con:

Drivers forgetting what Snow is.   Sir, slow down.

Pro:

Snowball fights. Phenomenal way to show someone you like them, without actually saying one word. Just peg him in the leg, he'll get the hint.

Con:

Shoveling. 'nuff said.

Pro:

Building a Snowman. Duh.

Con:

Walking.  Can be quite the challenge from car to work, especially on days below freezing with 700 mile/hour winds whipping right in your face.

Pro:

Sledding. Should we be able to find a hill.

Con:

Waiting for the car to warm up.  Should you not have an auto start, this is not fun.

Pro:

Hot Chocolate. What better way to regain feeling in your fingertips, then wrapping your hand around a piping hot mug of chocolaty goodness.

Con:

Burning your tongue. Not waiting long enough for hot chocolaty goodness to cool off.

Pro:

Cross Country Skiing.  It can actually be fun. Plus, it helps you get off the couch and prevents you from gaining a third chin by late March.

Con:

Four legged friends.  Sparky can become a little high maintenance should the drift be a bit high for his legs.  Get ready to shovel out the backyard to make sure he'll head out when you open the patio door, or prepare to carry him to a potty break.
